International Masonry Institute performed fire testing at Omega Point Laboratory facility

SafeCrete AAC is a fire-resistant building material. SafeCrete is non-combustible, and its insulating properties help to protect steel and other materials inside the wall from excessive heat. This feature makes SafeCrete an excellent choice for firewalls, stairwells, elevator shafts, hotels, schools, and other applications where fire codes must be met or safety is desired.

The illustration below depicts the results of a test on an 8-inch AAC structural wall. On one side of the wall, a furnace blasted at up to 2012 degrees F for four hours. The other side of the wall did not begin to warm until nearly two hours. After four hours, the interior surface reached only 167°F.

Numerous fire tests have been performed on AAC products. UL testing yielded such fabulous results that UL built their next laboratory with AAC.

An 8-inch thick SafeCrete wall carries a standard 4-hour fire rating. A fire rating of up to an hour per inch can be obtained. Please contact us for more fire ratings on particular SafeCrete products.
